Not so wise investment.

This whole school year has been a period of assessment for me.

I realized that one of my strengths is the ability to recognize the things I am good at, the things I can do, and the things I really can't.

This strength to identify which are which will only be useful if I learn how to select what I invest myself in.

I am currently in a commitment which is in the border of those which I can do and those which I really can't. I might actually be wasting my time and inhibiting others who are more capable of taking my place.

But it's hard to disappoint the people who believe you can and expect so much from you especially if you've given them some basis to believe so. Shall I push myself to pursue this or shall I just redirect my energies?

Rick Olivares passed by my blog!

Though I know anyone can type that on my tagboard, I still believe he passed by my blog. Hahaha.

Mr. Rick Olivares does a lot of things but I learned about him because he writes the UAAP updates on the Ateneo website. Being the big UAAP fan that I am, I was always so excited to read his article after every game. While writing my entries about the Eagles, I just had to quote from some of his articles. :)

Aside from being a fan of collegiate sports, I'm also a fan of great leaders and great writers. (This is partly the reason why I quote so many people and write about others I admire so often in this blog.) So imagine my surprise when I saw that tag on my blog. :)

I think I should write a blog entry about my favorite writers or bloggers. Ya. I should. before my blog turns into a page full of direct quotes from other people. Hahaha. :))

Too much thinking aloud. I just wanted to express my happiness. Haha. This is enough to make me all cheerful despite the fact that finals are coming up. :)

That little voice.

I read this from Ma'am Rodrigo's blog and I just had to post it here. She says she got it from an email sent to her by Karen Cardenas. It expresses "her take on Nietzche's "That which does not destroy me makes me stronger"
There is a sense of triumph when one can enjoy what is not enjoyable. When one goes through pain, there should be that little voice, that part of you that can stand apart from what is happenning and look and say this will pass, this is not a permanent situation, what will I get from it? How is this going to make me a wiser, better person? [The pain will pass] and you will have another war wound, and you will one day look at it and smile and say, gee I lived through that one, too... I will learn from it, and I know at the end of it all I will be a better person for it, and be grateful for the experience.
